All about Humility

Humility according to Dr. Webster is meekness, humbleness subjecting oneself in the right time, in the right place, and in the right person without losing personality and most specially lies on dignity.

The Degrees:

1st:
"A person keeps the fear of God before his eyes and beware of forgetting.”

2nd:
“A person love not his own will nor take pleasure in satisfying his desires but model his actions on the saying of the Lord, “I have come not to do any own will but the will of Him who sent me.”

3rd:
“A person submits to his superior in all obedience for the love of God.”

4th:
“A person holds fast to patience with a silent mind, when in his obedience he meets with difficulties and contradictions and even any kind of injustices, enduring all without growing weary and running away.”

5th:
“A person will not hide the evil thoughts that enter his heart or the sins committed in secret, but that he humbly confess them anyway.”

6th:
“A person be content with the poorest and worst of everything and that in every cooperation him, he consider himself a bad and worthless workman.”

7th:
“A person considers his self lower and of account than anyone else and thus is not only in verbal protestation, but also with the most heartfelt inner conviction.”

8th:
“A person does not only what is endorsed by the common rule and the example set by his elders.”

9th:
“A person controls his tongue and remains silent; not speaking unless asked a question.”

10th:
“A person must be not ready and quick to laugh, for it is written, “The fool lifts up his voice in laughter.”

11th:
“A person speaks gently and without laughter, seriously and with becoming modesty, briefly and reasonably but raising his voice as is it written – A wise man is known by his few words.”

12th:
“A person not only has humility in his heart but also by his appearance make it always manifest to those who see him.”

These are the best reminders for all of us, especially for those who sometimes forget what is right and wrong, and to those who are already on the top. In connections in doing his work and most importantly in his relationship with others.
